Rihanna – Rude Boy [Official Music Video]
Here is the latest video to get released by the Barbadian songstress, Rihanna, called “Rude Boy.” It’s the third single US single to get get releases from her 4th studio album, “Rated R.” The music video was directed by Melina Matsoukas in January of this year. Melina directed Rihanna’s ‘Hard’ video too. Super producers, Stargate, produced and wrote this track. Singer/Songwriter, Ester Dean also cowrote the song.
Rihanna described the video as “completely different from any other video I’ve shot before. A lot of my videos are really dark and edgy and tough. ‘Rude Boy’ is more playing along the lines from my roots. We used a lot of color, but also the costumes were very Jamaican dance-hall queen type.”
In an Interview with Q Magazine, Rihanna said “the song is about the kind of street, bad boy that girls sometimes like. There’s a danger and a swagger there.”
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Lady Gaga – Bad Romance [Official Music Video]
Check out the official music video for Lady Gag’s song “Bad Romance.” The RedOne-produced track is the first single off her “The Fame Monster” album, which is the re-release of her debut album, “The Fame.” Gaga seeked the help of renowned movie director, Francis Lawrence, to help portray her psycho ideas. What i like about Lady Gaga is that she is so free spirited. The average “Joe” would look Gaga and the first thought in his head would be trashy, but if u delve into fashion and what makes people trendsetters, she would be true definition of one. Judging by Gaga’s fashion sense, and even her choice of designer footwear brands, she could be the spokesperson for Jeffrey Campbell footwear. Think about it… lol! Either way she should be at least sponsored by them. She embodies Jeffrey Campbell footwear without even trying. Anyway Enjoy the music video!!!
“I knew [Lawrence’s] ability as a director is so much higher than what I could [do],” Gaga explained to MTV News last week. ”There’s this one shot in the video where I get kidnapped by supermodels. I’m washing away my sins and they shove vodka down my throat to drug me up before they sell me off to the Russian mafia.”
“I wanted to design a pair for some of the toughest chicks and some of my girlfriends — don’t do this at home! — they used to keep razor blades in the side of their mouths,” she explained. “That tough female sprit is something that I want to project. It’s meant to be, ‘This is my shield, this is my weapon, this is my inner sense of fame, this is my monster.’ “
“It was collaborative. He’s a really pop video director and a filmmaker. He did ‘I Am Legend’ and I’m a huge Will Smith fan, so I knew he could execute the video in a way that I could give him all my weirdest, most psychotic ideas,” she said. “But it would come across to and be relevant to the public.”
Rihanna – Russian Roulette [Official Music Video]
Here is the official music video for Rihanna’s new song ”Russian Roulette.” It’s the 1st official single off RiRi’s highly anticipated 3rd studio album,”Rated R,” which hits stores November 23rd. The music video was directed by Anthony Mandler. The song was produced by Chuck Harmony & Written by Ne-Yo. Anthony should just make this a short film and ink one of them Direct TV Deals. I know Rihanna would have loved the extra money. I have gotten one of them Direct Tv Packages before. They should just use half this video as one of them “ON Demand” previews that Direct TV Offers.
It involves gun play and underwater scenes in which Rihanna is pierced by bullets, her blood clouding as her body contorts. There are her shadowy tormentors, who keep her locked away and subject her to all sorts of torture including gassing her with red smoke and setting a cat on her. There are scenes of her twisting and pawing in a padded cell. At one point, she is mowed down by a speeding car. Through all of this however, she survives and her partner is killed in the Russian Roulette game.
Director Anthony Mandler, who also directed the singer’s “Wait Your Turn” clip, said the video is the perfect embodiment of the haunting ballad.
“I think that with this song and the meaning of this song and how loaded it all is, no pun intended, how much imagery and perhaps symbolism that is loaded in this song, the only way to do it was to do something that was visually challenging,” he told MTV News about the video, which premieres Friday (November 13) on “20/20.”
Mandler thought of the video as a metaphor for Rihanna’s very public life in the gossip pages, as opposed to a direct comment on her February assault by then-boyfriend Chris Brown.
“I think you can’t effect change unless you’re willing to take a risk,” he said. “You can’t get people to pay attention and understand unless you’re willing to push the limit and try new things. The song, this situation, everything is so frontloaded with so much gossip and so much media coverage and so many emotions and stories that if you don’t try to do something that is poetic and layered in symbolism, then you’re either running from the truth or you’re being too obvious with it.”
